Our Aggressive Dog Training Programs in Cincinnati
Aggressive/Reactive Dog Training – Private Lessons
This private training program is designed for dogs with aggression or reactivity concerns around other dogs and/or people. The Aggressive/reactive Dog Package 8-lesson program includes the Basic Obedience package along with additional lessons working with you and your dog around other dogs in different scenarios. Training plans depend on each dog’s behavior, history, and needs and may include desensitization and structured work around appropriate distractions.
Typical issues addressed include:
- Barking and lunging at other dogs on walks
- Snapping when touched or handled
- Growling at visitors entering the home
- Leash reactivity on neighborhood sidewalks
- Aggressive or reactive behavior around other dogs and/or people
- Fearful or nervous behavior that escalates into aggression
Many lessons start at our facility and may progress to nearby real-world settings when appropriate and when the dog is ready. The goal is improved control and more predictable behavior, not guaranteed aggression removal. The program gives owners practical skills and tools for managing situations as they arise.
2 Week Aggressive Dog Board & Train
This is an immersive 2-week Board & Train designed for dogs with aggression and/or reactivity that need more intensive work.
Each dog’s needs are evaluated individually before enrollment. The 2-week program combines immersive obedience training, work around multiple distractions and environments, and focused work on aggressive and/or reactive behavior.
The program also includes greeting manners, door manners, meal manners, minor unwanted behavior work, and an owner transfer session after completion. Lifetime refresher support is included according to the program details.
After the stay, owners receive detailed instruction so they can continue and maintain the training at home. This program helps address aggressive or reactive behaviors but does not guarantee permanent elimination of aggression.
Related Obedience Programs That Support Aggression Work
Solid obedience provides an important foundation for managing dogs with reactive or aggressive behaviors in everyday environments. Obedience training improves communication between owner and dog and gives owners practical commands to use during training.
Basic Obedience Training covers foundational commands such as Come, Sit, Down, Place, Loose Leash Heel, and Off. Advanced Obedience Training builds reliability around distractions and introduces additional obedience skills.
These programs alone are not aggression fixes, but foundational obedience can support behavior-focused training. Puppy training programs also focus on foundational obedience skills and early socialization.

How Aggressive Dog Training Works at Off Leash K9 Training Cincinnati

Step 1: Free Phone Consultation & Behavior History
Call (833) 349-6959 or email [email protected] to schedule a free aggression consultation. We'll ask about your dog's behavior history, triggers, environment, and prior training. This information helps us understand your dog's needs and determine whether private lessons or the 2 Week Aggressive Dog Board & Train is the more appropriate option.

Step 2: Initial Evaluation
Each case is evaluated individually before enrollment. Your trainer reviews your dog's behavior and discusses realistic goals for training. The Aggressive/Reactive Dog Training program includes four lessons based on the Basic Obedience package, followed by four additional lessons that can take place at the facility or, when appropriate and available, at other locations within 15 minutes of the training facility.

Step 3: Structured Training Sessions or Board & Train
For private Aggressive/Reactive Dog Training, you'll work through structured lessons combining foundational obedience with additional work around appropriate distractions and scenarios. The program includes desensitization work designed to give you and your dog additional skills and tools for managing aggression or reactivity. For the 2 Week Aggressive Dog Board & Train, your dog stays with a professional trainer for two weeks of immersive training. The program focuses on obedience, multiple distractions and environments, greeting and door manners, and aggressive and/or reactive behavior.

Step 4: Owner Coaching, Follow-Up, and Long-Term Management
Owners receive hands-on coaching so they can confidently handle their dog after training. We focus on clear handling skills, consistent rules, and realistic expectations for living with a dog that has shown aggression or reactivity. Some Board & Train programs include lifetime refresher support according to program details, and owners can contact us with questions. Continued practice at home is an important part of maintaining the skills developed during training.
